Four Years In: What Growth Really Looks Like at 360 Rugby

We turn four this year, and honestly, it's hard to know where to start.

When we look back at where this all began, a simple idea, a ball, and a belief that a Saturday morning could be something genuinely special for children and families in Eastbourne, and then look around at what 360 Rugby has become, it's difficult not to feel incredibly proud. And incredibly grateful.

So before we talk about what's changed, we just want to say: thank you. This community made all of it possible.

It Started Small. Really Small.

When we first started, we were a handful of kids, a few cones, and an enormous amount of hope. We weren't sure if anyone would turn up. We weren't sure if they'd come back. We definitely weren't sure we'd still be here four years later with fully booked sessions, a growing coaching team, and families who've been with us since the very beginning.

But they did turn up. And they did come back. And that, more than anything, is the story of this year.

What the Last Year Has Actually Looked Like

This past year has been our biggest yet, and not just in terms of numbers.

We introduced new group structures, Dinkys, Minis, Juniors and Giants, so that every child from 2.5 years old right up to 18 has a session that truly fits where they are. We added new coaches to the team to make sure quality and consistency never slipped, no matter how busy things got. We moved to termly bookings because, honestly, we had to. Sessions were filling up and we wanted to make sure every family who wanted a place could secure one.

We also donated the proceeds from our final sessions of last year to Feedbourners, a local Eastbourne charity doing incredible things for people in our community. Because we've always believed that what happens on the pitch should reflect something bigger off it.

None of this happened overnight. It happened because of the community that has built up around 360 Rugby, quietly, steadily, week after week.

Saturday Mornings. What They Really Mean.

We talk a lot about rugby. The skills, the development, the confidence children build over the weeks and months they're with us. And all of that is real, and all of it matters.

But if we're honest, and we always try to be, Saturday mornings at 360 are about something else too.

They're about getting outside. About the fresh air and the green grass and the simple, undeniable good of your child running around with other children while you stand on the side with a coffee and a familiar face. They're about that tick in your head that says yes, we did something this weekend and then still having the rest of the day ahead of you.

We know how busy family life is. We know Saturday morning isn't always easy to get to. That's exactly why we've worked so hard to make sure that when you do get here, it feels worth it, not just for your child, but for you too.

The parents and carers on the side of our sessions are as much a part of 360 Rugby as the children on the pitch. The friendships formed, the familiar faces, the knowing nod when someone's child does something brilliant, or completely gets it wrong, in the funniest way- we’re all there rooting for each other.

To Our Coaches

None of this happens without the people who show up every week and give their energy, their time and their genuine care to every child who comes through.

Harri, Mikey, Clarky, Ty, Luke and our OG, the recently married Tommy, you are the heartbeat of what we do. Thank you. Properly.

What Comes Next

We're not going to pretend we have it all figured out. We're still learning, still improving, still listening to feedback and trying to do better every single term. That hasn't changed since week one and it never will.

What we do know is that we're heading into year five with more energy, more belief, and more gratitude than ever before. Sessions are fully booked. The community is stronger than it's ever been. And we genuinely cannot wait to see what the next twelve months bring.

If you've been with us from the start, thank you. If you've just found us, welcome. And if you're still thinking about it, come down and see for yourself.

It's just rugby. But it's also so much more than that.

See you on the pitch. 🏉
